Pion Chief Technical Officer - Europe, Karl Box and Dr. Patrick O'Dwyer from the University of Cork present applications in biphasic dissolution. In his role, Karl Box is involved in scientific and chemistry related functions within Pion, as well as supporting commercial activities and business development. His expertise is in the field of physicochemical measurements where he has forged a successful career in the development of new instrumentation and assays for supporting drug discovery and development. Most recently, Karl has been involved in studying large molecule protein formulations and has helped develop a novel instrument designed to mimic the physicochemical stresses a biopharmaceutical experiences when injected into the subcutaneous environment. The in-vitro technology has been applied to understanding insulin behaviour and monoclonal antibody formulations following subcutaneous administration.
