Pion’s ionization tools are capable of analyzing multiple overlapping pKas and can also distinguish protogenic counterions. Sparingly soluble compounds can be analyzed in mixtures of an organic solvent (such as methanol or DMSO) and the aqueous pKa extrapolated. For compounds not requiring a cosolvent, we routinely measure pKa s between 2.0 and 12.0 using standard potentiometric procedures. And for compounds where the aqueous pKa is extrapolated from cosolvent mixtures, we routinely measure pKas between 3.0 and 11.0.
If compound structure is appropriate, our spectrophotometric method can measure pKas of water soluble and insoluble compounds between 1.5 and 12.5.
