Biphasic Dissolution

Conventional dissolution techniques allow scientists to establish the core properties of compounds under investigation but can be less effective when it comes to IVIVC prediction. That’s because in-vivo conditions vary with the progress of a drug through the human body.

Biphasic dissolution involves adding additional mediums to the standard monophasic model, allowing for much more sophisticated modelling of in-vivo conditions, and a corresponding improvement in IVIVC outcomes. Biphasic dissolution can allow scientists to develop much more reliable models of drug performance, before having to move to animal testing or clinical trials. As a leading facilitator of next-generation, Pion has naturally developed several instruments to support this increasingly important avenue of research.
