Laboratory Scientist
The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for supporting and executing experimental work to complete analytical service projects and for supporting the development of chemical and biopharmaceutical testing equipment and innovative applications
Essential Functions
- Support and execute Analytical Service experiments for customer samples.
- Support and execute Development projects.
- Participate in maintaining the analytical laboratory.
- Support general lab work by media and reagent preparation.
- Prepare relevant documentation to support Analytical Service operations, SOP, protocols, etc.
- Support development efforts to enhance the hardware and software aspects of Pion equipment.
- Support the global sales effort with customer meetings and demonstrations as required.
- Provide internal and external training courses for end users, channel partners and internal customers.
- Contribute to the safe operation of Pion’s analytical laboratories.

Travel
The position is 100% onsite in the Billerica office and requires less than 5% domestic travel.
Job Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 5%
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 20 lbs
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or preferably Biochemistry required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 1+ year or experience in a laboratory setting preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office required
